If you don’t love Andover, you must not have set foot in our lovely town. April is a great time to get out and enjoy everything the community has to offer. As far back as the founding of its first settlement in 1642, its many charms have attracted people from near and far in search of the good life. In 2015, its allure is as strong as ever due to the following attributes:
- Rich history
- Amenities and services
- Local schools
Andover provides easy access to and from Boston and surrounding communities. Routes I-495 and I-93 cut through town, and Routes 125, 114, 28, 133 provide additional access. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, or MBTA, has two stops here, and regional buses offer easy transportation throughout the area.
Even in 2015, the past is alive and well here. The West Parish Center District hosts beautiful homes and the town’s oldest church, the 1826 West Parish Church. Remnants of its past as a corporate community can be found in Shawsheen Village Historic District. A number of other homes, as well as farms, historic districts and a tavern round out the list of amazing places to visit this April.
Andover is easily accessible by train, bus and car. Its relative distance of about 23 miles from Boston, though, makes it a lower-cost alternative to suburbs located closer to the city. Houses, condos and apartments can be purchased or rented at an affordable rate compared to many area communities.
A community’s services are essential to its appeal. Fortunately, Andover has an abundance of great amenities, from recycling to elder services. Our parks, library, conservation land and other resources help provide a consistently high quality of life to residents. In addition, we have access to fabulous restaurants and plenty of locally owned and franchised businesses.
The state of Massachusetts can be proud of its fine educational system, and Andover is no exception. From the 2015 calendar bursting with events to our fine teachers, the area boasts countless assets. Find out more this April by contacting the Andover public school system here.
